Zaylee Embery Killed in DUI Riverside Car Accident on 215 Freeway near Blaine Street

Riverside, California (November 24, 2022) – Authorities have identified a 3-year-old Zaylee Embery as the toddler killed in a DUI collision early Wednesday morning in Riverside County.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the accident happened at around 12:13 a.m. on November 23 on the southbound 215 Freeway, just north of Blaine Street.
Per the dispatch, a sedan and a pickup truck crashed. The truck was driving ahead of the sedan when it pulled to the shoulder of the roadway after experiencing mechanical issues. The sedan then crashed into the truck before it overturned.
Embery, a sedan passenger, died in the accident and was declared dead at 12:45 a.m.
A 3-year-old second kid, driving in the sedan suffered moderate injuries, while the sedan driver sustained minor injuries. The two patients were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The pickup driver did not suffer injuries due to the accident.
Police said alcohol played a role in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
