Fresno County, California (July 15, 2023) – A woman was killed and another driver was injured in a big rig collision in Fresno County on Friday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Manning Avenue and McMullin Grade at around 5 a.m.

A 2012 Dodge Avenger was being driven eastbound on Manning Avenue by a 21-year-old Kerman man who allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a commercial big rig.

A female passenger in the Dodge was killed in the accident.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.

The deceased is believed to be the mother of the hospitalized driver.

The 42-year-old man from Coalinga who was driving the big rig was not injured.

No other information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
