Vatkes Nalbandian Killed in Van Nuys Crash on Victory Boulevard

Van Nuys, California (August 9, 2023) – The Los Angeles Police Department has identified 64-year-old Vatkes Nalbandian as the individual killed in a wrong-way collision on Sunday night in Van Nuys.

The deadly accident occurred on Victory Boulevard east of Columbus Avenue at around 10:55 p.m. on August 6.

Police said a car was heading east on Victory Boulevard when it drove into the westbound side and collided head-on with an approaching car operated by Nalbandian.

The eastbound vehicle motorist and his passenger were injured following the accident.

The eastbound driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
