Steven Bryant and Laurie Bryant Killed in Scotts Valley Crash on Mount Hermon Road

Scotts Valley, California (September 1, 2023) –  A couple from San Jose was killed in a traffic collision that took place in a Scotts Valley Wednesday evening, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

Laurie E. Bryant, 58, and Steven L. Bryant, 62, died following the incident that took place on Mount Hermon Drive between Skypark Drive and Lockhart Gulch Road just before 5 p.m. August 30.

Authorities said the couple was in a gold sedan that collided head-on with a white commercial van.

The couple died at the scene while a girl in the sedan was taken to a trauma center and was expected to survive.

One person was in the van and was not injured. The crash remained under investigation.
