Robert Brown Identified as Man Killed in Santa Barbara Accident on Highway 154

Santa Barbara, California (August 23, 2023) – Police have identified the man killed in a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Santa Barbara as Robert Michaelius Brown, 24, of South Jacksonville, Florida.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred on Highway 154 near San Antonia Creek Road at about 1:24 a.m. on August 19.
Brown was westbound on Highway 154 in a 2020 Nissan Altima when he drove across the double yellow lines and crashed head-on into a 2016 Infiniti QX60.
Brown died in the collision.
The Infiniti driver, Maria Estella Suarez Jimenez, 57, of Oxnard, and four passengers were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from moderate to severe degrees.
The four passengers from Oxnard were identified as 69-year-old Rosa Marie Suarez, Maria Suarez Garibay, 75, Jaime Jimenez Suarez, 53 and 61-year-old Ofelia Vargas Suarez.
No other information regarding this crash was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
