Ramiro Ortiz Killed in Hesperia Car Accident on Highway 138

Hesperia, California (July 25, 2023) – The San Bernardino County Coroners’ Office has identified 58-year-old Ramiro Ortiz of Victorville as the man killed in a fatal accident on Sunday morning in Victorville.

The accident occurred at around 4:18 a.m. on July 23 on Highway 138 between Little Horsethief Canyon Road and Summit Post Office Road.

According to the authorities, a white Mercedes and a dark gray Chevrolet Camaro crashed.

The Mercedes driver, Ortiz, suffered life-threatening injuries and died while being rushed to the hospital.

Officials closed the two highway directions for approximately five hours following the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
