Karrar Mahdi Killed in Moreno Valley Accident at Iris Avenue and Lasselle Street

Moreno Valley, California (July 12, 2023) –  Karrar Mahdi has been identified as the 15-year-old boy killed in a bicycle collision last month in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside Sheriff’s Moreno Valley Station.

The accident happened at about 7:52 p.m. on June 15 at the Iris Avenue and Lasselle Street intersection.

Authorities said Mahdi was heading eastbound on Iris Avenue and was turning left onto northbound Lasselle when he was struck by a vehicle.

Mahdi was rushed to Riverside University Health System Medical Center, where he died on Tuesday, July 11.

Police did not suspect alcohol to have played a role in the accident.
