1 Killed, 1 Severely Injured in Huntington Beach Accident on Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street

Huntington Beach, California (August 24, 2023) – According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, a female driver was killed after a traffic collision on Wednesday morning in Huntington Beach.
The deadly crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m. on August 23 on Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street.
Police confirmed a BMW was driving eastbound on Garfield Avenue, east of Magnolia Street when it struck the driver’s side of a Nissan before hitting a Ford.
The Nissan had pulled out of a parking lot on the south side of the street while the Ford had halted in the westbound lane of Garfield Avenue at the time of the crash.
Fire officials rushed to the scene to aid the victims.
The Nissan driver, a 59-year-old Huntington Beach woman, and her male passenger sustained critical injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The female motorist succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The 40-year-old BMW driver, a Huntington Beach resident, and the Ford motorist, a man from Norwalk, were treated at the crash site.
They both cooperated with officials after the crash.
Police have not arrested any person regarding the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
