Man Dies in Long Beach Electric Scooter Collision at West 7th Street and Chestnut Avenue

Long Beach, California (September 28, 2022) – A man riding an electric scooter died after colliding with a vehicle at an intersection in Long Beach on Tuesday morning.
The accident was reported at around 7:10 a.m. at 7th Street and Chestnut Avenue, according to the authorities.
The man was riding an electric scooter westbound on West 7th Street and did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue.
The rider was then struck by a 2018 Chrysler 300 traveling northbound on Chestnut Avenue.
The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and rushed the rider to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 59-year-old woman from Long Beach, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The identity of the deceased person was not disclosed pending notification of the family.
The accident remains under investigation.
