Dustin C. Alioto Killed in Jackson County Accident on Highway 234 near Milepost 16

Jackson County, Oregon (June 13, 2023) – According to the Oregon State Police, three vehicles crashed, killing one person and injuring another on Saturday night in Jackson County.

The fatal collision happened at about 10:39 p.m. on June 10 on Highway 234 near milepost 16.

Authorities confirmed that 34-year-old Dustin C. Alioto was operating a black 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when they swerved into the approaching traffic and scratched a red 2008 Kia Sedona.

The Chevy then crashed head-on into a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Heriberto Valencia-Guzman, 34, of Eureka.

Alioto suffered fatal injuries due to the collision.

Valencia-Guzman was transported to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

47-year-old Koa Avila of Trail, the Kia driver, was not hurt in the accident.

Police blocked the highway for around four hours for an on-scene investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
