Adam Joy Killed in Polk County Accident on Highway 221 near Milepost 11.5

Polk County, Oregon (June 13, 2023) – Adam Joy, 55, of Portland, was killed following a bicycle accident early Saturday morning in Polk County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The deadly collision occurred at about 1:28 a.m. on June 10 on Highway 221 near milepost 11.5.
Police said Robert Weeks, 47, was heading southbound in a silver 2021 Ford F-350 and was attempting to pass a southbound bicycle operated by Joy. Joy then fell over from her bike and was run over by the Ford.
Adam was declared dead at the crash site.
Authorities confirmed the truck driver remained at the accident location and was cooperative.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, ODOT, Yamhill, and the Polk County Fire Departments responded to assist the OSP.
The incident remains under investigation.
