Brenden Dwyer Identified as Cyclist Killed in Linn County Bicycle Crash on Highway 20 near Milepost 6

Linn County, Oregon (August 2, 2023) – The Oregon State Police is investigating a deadly bicycle accident that killed Brenden Dwyer, 34, of Ontario, on Monday morning in Linn County.

The fatal crash happened on westbound Highway 20 near milepost 6 at about 8:00 a.m. on July 31.

Dwyer was cycling his bicycle from Knox Butte Road and was entering Highway 20 when he was hit by a Kenworth CMV truck.

Dwyer suffered fatal injuries due to the collision.

The truck driver, Jamie Rowden of Dallas, 53, cooperated with authorities at the scene.

Police closed the roadway for approximately two hours for an on-scene investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
