3 Killed in Gervais Train Accident on Keene Road near Manning Road Northeast

Gervais, Oregon (August 3, 2023) – According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, three persons died following a train accident on Wednesday morning south of Gervais in Marion County.

The deadly accident happened at about 6:00 p.m. on August 2 near Keene Road.

Police said a freight train and a vehicle collided for unknown reasons.

Three individuals suffered fatal injuries due to the collision. One other party was flown to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities closed Keene Road Northeast between Manning Road Northeast and Portland Road Northeast.

An investigation is ongoing.
