Arlethia King Killed in Tucson Car Crash on East Ajo Way and South Third Avenue
Tucson, Arizona (September 2, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that killed Arlethia Rosine King, 66, on Monday morning in Tucson.
The accident happened at East Ajo Way and South Third Avenue on August 28.
Police said a 2010 Ford Edge was heading eastbound on Ajo Way when it drove left of center across a center multipurpose lane and hit a 2001 Toyota Sequoia traveling westbound on Ajo in the median lane.
King, one of the drivers and the second motorist, a man, were transported to Banner University Medical Center, where she died. The man suffered severe injuries due to the collision.
Authorities believed alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
