Velazquez Marlon and Anton Luis Die After Moreno Valley Accident at Calle Agua and Lasselle Street

Moreno Valley, California (June 20, 2023) – Two drivers from Moreno Valley were killed following a head-on collision early Monday morning in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The deadly collision happened at about 4:33 a.m. on June 19, at Calle Agua and Lasselle Street.

Authorities said a 2001 Toyota Celica was heading southbound on Lasselle Street at a high rate of speed when it struck the median before driving into the opposite lane, where it crashed head-on into a 2008 Nissan Maxima.

Firefighters and medics responded to the crash site and pronounced the two drivers, Anton Luis, 37, and 26-year-old Velazquez Marlon, dead at the accident scene.

No one else was inside the cars at the time of the collision.

Police are yet to determine if drugs or alcohol contributed to this collision.

Authorities blocked Lassele Street for some hours to give way to a clearing operation and an on-scene investigation.

No additional information concerning this collision was provided.
