Abel Alvarado among Three Killed in Palm Desert Collision at Fred Waring and Adonis Drives

Palm Desert, California (December 29, 2022) – Abel Alvarado, 69, of Anza, was identified as one of three people killed in a car crash at an intersection in Palm Desert on Wednesday night.
The Riverside County Fire Department said the accident happened at around 7:15 p.m. at Fred Waring and Adonis drives.
A Honda Accord was driven by Ricardo Meza, 24, of Palm Desert, collided with a Nissan Sentra that was attempting to make a left turn.
Alvarado and two other passengers in the Honda were trapped inside the car and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two were identified as Yolanda Alvarado, 65, of Anza, and Elena Morron, 84, of Los Angeles.
Meza suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accident caused the closure of Fred Waring Drive between Town Center Way and Monterey Avenue.
More details about the accident were not provided.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
