1 Killed, 3 Injured in Pittsburg Head-On Collision on Highway 4 near Railroad Avenue

Pittsburg, California (December 14, 2022) – One person was killed and three others injured after a wrong-way crash that happened in Pittsburg on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 11:05 a.m. on Highway 4 near Railroad Avenue.
A Dodge Durango was traveling west on the eastbound lane when it collided head-on with a Honda Accord.
A Toyota and a tanker truck were also involved in the crash.
The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The Toyota driver and an infant passenger were also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The truck driver was not injured.
The Dodge driver tried to flee the scene but was arrested and taken into custody.
Alcohol and drugs are believed to be factors in the crash.
Authorities closed the highway for about four hours to allow them to investigate the incident.
An investigation remains underway.
