2 People, Including CHP Officer, Injured in Car Accident on 10 Freeway near Barranca Street

Los Angeles, California (December 14, 2022) – Two people, including a California Highway Patrol officer, were injured in a car crash on Tuesday afternoon in West Covina.
The accident was reported at around 1:53 p.m. on the right shoulder of eastbound 10 Freeway near Barranca Street.
A CHP officer was reportedly conducting a traffic stop on a Toyota Corolla on the shoulder of the freeway when a Toyota Sequoia and a Toyota Tacoma collided.
The impact of the collision caused the driver of the Sequoia to lose control and crash into the rear of the patrol car.
The patrol car was pushed forward and struck the rear of the Corolla.
The CHP officer was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the Sequoia’s driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Inter-Community in Covina.
The drivers of the Corolla and the Tacoma sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene and released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
