Bicyclist Severely Hurt in Clark County Accident on 291st Street

Clark County, Oregon (July 6, 2023) – Police are investigating a major bicycle accident that injured a bicyclist on Tuesday morning in Clark County.

The accident took place at about 9:00 a.m. on July 4, on  NW 291st Street near the intersection of NW 71st Avenue.

Authorities said a pickup truck and a bicycle collided for unknown reasons.

Responding firefighters and medics rushed the cyclist to PeachHealth Hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

60-year-old Stephen Sauro, the pickup driver, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault.

No other information regarding this incident was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
