Zachary Mitchell Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway in Tehama

Tehama County, California (November 30, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Monday morning in Tehama County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Interstate 5 Freeway on November 28.

34-year-old Zachary Mitchell had been driving a car on the freeway when he pulled over on the shoulder.

The Medford resident reportedly exited the vehicle and was hit by a passing car.

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as factors in the crash.
