Pacific Beach, California (January 24, 2023) – 22-year-old Vanessa Abigail Urbina Aragonez of Arizona has been identified as the woman killed in an alleged DUI collision on Sunday morning in Pacific Beach.

According to San Diego police, the deadly accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on January 22, in the 3400 block of Riviera Drive near Edge Cliff Drive.

Police said 22-year-old Nestor Hernandez was heading south on Riviera Drive in a Toyota Tacoma when he drove into the sidewalk, hitting two pedestrians. Next to the victims was a parked Chevrolet Tahoe.

Aragonez was one of the victims, and she suffered fatal injuries following the accident.

The second pedestrian, identified as a 24-year-old man, was pinned under the Toyota. The man sustained severe injuries in the accident.

Hernandez was not injured in the collision. Police arrested him on suspicion of DUI and murder,
