Stevens County, Washington State (August 11, 2023) – The Washington State Patrol Troopers are investigating a fatal accident that killed Tyler Philip, 27, on Thursday morning in Stevens County.

The accident happened at about midnight on August 10 on State Route 395 near Loon Lake.

According to authorities, Philip was heading southbound in the northbound lanes in a Toyota when he crashed head-on into a GMC traveling northbound.

Philip suffered fatal injuries due to the accident.

The GMC driver, 24 years, was flown to an area hospital for treatment. The 45-year-old passenger suffered injuries, but they declined medical aid.

Police believed reckless driving contributed to the collision.
