Bicyclist Struck, Injured by Car at Ming Avenue and El Portal Drive in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California (March 19, 2023) – A bicyclist was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a car on Friday evening in Bakersfield.

At around 7 p.m., the bicycle accident happened at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Ming Avenue and El Portal Drive.

According to Bakersfield Police Department, a 16-year-old boy was riding a bicycle in the area and was struck by a car in unclear circumstances.

The bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
