Temecula, California (December 10, 2022) – 71-year-old Steven Lowe has been identified as the man who died in a head-on collision that happened in Temecula on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported at around 2:13 p.m. at Calle Contento and Madera de Playa.
Lowe was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker southbound when he veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV.
CHP said Lowe suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Wildomar’s Inland Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed.
The Mercedes driver, a 52-year-old woman, sustained major injuries and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
CHP said Lowe was not wearing a seatbelt while the other driver was wearing one.
No additional information regarding the accident was available.
The crash remains under investigation.
