VinsnowPaul Antonio Dies in Tucson Bicycle Accident on East 29th Street
Tucson, Arizona (May 23, 2023) – 54-year-old Paul A. Antonio died after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Sunday afternoon in Tucson.
The deadly crash occurred at around 2:45 p.m. at the 4200 block of East 29th Street.
The Tucson Police Department said Antonio was crossing the street from north to south when a white 2010 Chevrolet Colorado struck him.
Authorities say the Chevrolet was traveling eastbound at a high speed and the driver is believed to have been impaired when the crash happened.
Antonio was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 40-year-old James Lee Sorg, was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail where he will face manslaughter charges.
The accident remains under investigation.
