Man Dies After Phoenix Pedestrian Accident near 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street

Phoenix, Arizona (August 8, 2023) – The Phoenix police are investigating a deadly pedestrian collision that left a 50-year-old man dead on Monday morning in Phoenix.

The deadly collision happened near 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 8:45 a.m. on August 7.

 According to authorities, the man was found lying on the ground and declared dead at the scene.

The involved driver remained at the crash site. He told officials that another motorist rear-ended his car, and he lost control, hitting the man. The vehicle that rear-ended him fled the scene after the accident.

The male pedestrian was reportedly walking on the sidewalk when he was hit.

The suspect has not been arrested due to the collision.
