Hesperia Man Killed in Cajon Valley Crash on Highway 138

Cajon Valley, California (January 18, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision that left a 39-year-old Hesperia man dead early Wednesday morning in Cajon Valley.
The fatal accident was reported at around 4:21 a.m. on Highway 138 near milepost marker 19.00 and Summit Post Office Road.
The Hesperia man was driving a 2001 Dodge 1500 eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the car and collided with a blue Ford Explorer.
The Dodge overturned after the collision and the driver was ejected.
The San Bernardino County Fire responded to the crash and pronounced the Hesperia man who had been ejected dead at the scene.
Another person sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital.
The accident caused the shut down of the highway in both directions for several hours.
Details regarding the identities of victims were unavailable.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
