Lesli Bolanos Killed in Laveen Car Crash on 35th Avenue and Southern Avenue

Laveen, Arizona (August 21, 2023) – The Phoenix police have identified 19-year-old Lesli Vega Bolanos as the person killed after a two-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Laveen.

The collision occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on August 19 at 35th and Southern Avenues.

Police said two vehicles were racing westbound on Southern Avenue before colliding. One vehicle overturned while the other crashed through a fence.

One of the cars knocked down a power pole following the collision.

Two men were extricated from the overturned vehicle, and one was taken to the hospital to treat critical injuries.

Bolanos, a passenger in the vehicle, was thrown out of the car due to the crash’s impact. Bolanos was declared dead at the crash site.

Two persons riding in the second car were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
