Modesto, California (October 11, 2022) – 63-year-old Kathryn Pearce has been identified as the woman who was killed in a car crash on Thursday night in Vernalis.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 132 and McCracken Road at around 10:24 p.m.
Pearce was driving a Toyota Prius north on McCracken Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign and crashed into a Nissan Frontier traveling westbound on Highway 132.
Pearce was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the Nissan, 23-year-old Dilpreet Thiara, of Manteca, suffered major injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
