Los Angeles, California (September 29, 2022) – Karina Hernandez Melchor, 35, has been identified as the woman who died after being struck by a car in Los Angeles on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on South San Pedro Street at about 10:15 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department says the Los Angeles woman was crossing the street in a crosswalk when she was hit by a car traveling southbound.
Melchor was killed in the accident.
The 20-year-old man driving the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
