Juan Bautista Identified as Man Killed in Contra Costa Accident on Vasco Road

Contra Costa County, California (June 23, 2023) – 47-year-old  Juan Rafael Bautista of Pittsburg has been identified as the man killed in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon in east Contra Costa County.

According to the Contra Costa County Fire Department, the accident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on June 21 on Vasco Road south of Camino Diablo.

Police reported that a Dodge Ram pickup truck was heading northbound on Vasco Road when it swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck heading southbound.

The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to roll over and crash into a northbound Chevrolet.

The Toyota driver suffered fatal injuries.

The Dodge driver suffered severe injuries, while a Dodge passenger and the Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries.

No other information concerning this accident was released. 

An investigation is ongoing.
