Jacob Snelling Identified as Man Killed in Crash at 51st Avenue in Coachella

Jacob Snelling Killed in Coachella Car Accident at 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive

Coachella, California (June 8, 2023) – 21-year-old Jacob Snelling has been identified as the man killed in an alleged DUI collision on Tuesday night in Coachella, according to the Riverside County Coroner.

The deadly accident happened at about 8:14 p.m. on June 6 at 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive.

The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the crash. Two cars were reportedly involved in the accident.

Emergency crews and medics performed CPR on Jacob Snelling to no avail, and he was declared dead at the accident location.

The second car’s driver, 38-year-old Antonio Tellez Leon, was not injured. 

Antonio showed symptoms of impairment, and police arrested him. He is facing several charges, including felony driving under the influence, causing injury and murder, possessing a suspended driver’s license, and violating probation.

No other information regarding this incident was provided.
