Hawthorne, California (December 6, 2022) – 51-year-old Gregoria Barraza Mendez has been identified as the woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday night in Hawthorne.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Imperial Highway.
Two vehicles collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances. The impact of the crash caused one of the cars to burst into flames.
Mendez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
