P.MarkShayaniGirl, 12, Injured in Freedom Pedestrian Accident at Buena Vista Drive and Miller Avenue
Freedom, California (March 21, 2023) – 12-year-old girl from Watsonville was seriously injured after being hit by a car near Freedom on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened on Buena Vista Drive at Miller Avenue at around 6:58 a.m.
The girl was in a crosswalk, walking across Buena Vista Drive and was hit by a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Maria Tapia Lara.
The girl was severely injured in the accident and was transported to Valley Medical Center.
The driver of the involved car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
