Fermin Gutierrez Dies After Phoenix Car Crash on  51st Avenue and Buckeye Road

Phoenix, Arizona (August 13, 2023) – Police have identified the man killed after a deadly collision on Saturday morning in Phoenix, Arizona.

63-year-old  Fermin Ruiz Gutierrez died after the August 12 crash that happened at about 3:15 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Buckeye Road.

According to a police report, a car operated by 28-year-old Alejandro Carrillo Jr. collided with Gutierrez’s vehicle that had halted northbound for a red light. Carrillo drove northbound and slammed into a second vehicle.

Gutierrez was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The other two motorists remained at the crash site following the collision.

Police later arrested Carrillo on suspicion of DUI.

The incident remains under investigation.
