Merced County, California (January 20, 2023) – Authorities have identified 24-year-old Carlos Reyes Gonzales of Winton as the person injured in a deadly accident on Thursday morning in Merced County.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, the collision occurred at about 10:39 a.m. on January 19 on South Gurr Road, south of Shippee Road.
Per the dispatch, a San Jose woman, 24 years, was heading southbound on South Gurr Road when she drove into the northbound lanes and crashed into an oncoming Silverado driven by Gonzales.
The woman was declared dead at the scene. Gonzales suffered minor injuries following the accident.
