P.MarkShayaniBeatriz Curiel Killed in Car Accident on Ivy Street at Highway 99 in Live Oak
Live Oak, California (October 8, 2022) – Beatriz Montero Curiel was killed in a two-vehicle collision that happened in Live Oak on September 17.
The fatal crash happened at around 4:22 p.m. on Ivy Street at Highway 99, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Esmeralda Perez was driving a red Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on the highway when she collided with Curiel’s southbound Toyota Camry.
Curiel was killed in the accident.
Perez, 25, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
On October 6, Perez was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail for vehicular manslaughter after officers determined that she had been recklessly driving at recklessly at over twice the speed limit.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
