At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Byron Car Accident on Byron Highway near Clifton Court

Byron, California (December 19, 2022) – A two-vehicle accident left at least one person with severe injuries on Sunday afternoon in Byron, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The major accident happened around 3:11 p.m. on December 18, on northbound Byron Highway, just north of Clifton Court Road.

As per the CHP officials, two cars crashed for reasons yet to be determined. The crash damaged a PG&E and AT&T  pole following the collision.

Firefighters and medics rushed to the scene to aid at least one person seriously hurt in the crash. An air ambulance was initially requested to airlift the patient to the hospital.

Emergency crews later canceled the request due to the foggy location, and the patient was taken to the hospital by a ground ambulance.

Police confirmed that PG&E and AT&T officials arrived to access the damaged poles.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the accident scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
