Vinsnow7 Killed, Several Injured in Albany Accident on I-5 near Santiam Rest Area
Albany, Oregon (May 19, 2023) – Seven people were killed and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Albany on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Oregon State Police, the accident happened at around 2:05 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Santiam rest area.
Two semi-trucks and a passenger van were involved, but the circumstances of the collision were not immediately established.
The van was pinned between the two trucks.
Seven people were killed in the accident.
Two Life Flight helicopters landed and airlifted some victims to the hospital. Others were been attended to by paramedics at the scene.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is underway.
