3 Injured in Car Accident on Highway 180 near Sonoma Avenue

Fresno, California (March 27, 2023) – Three people were injured, one critically, in a fiery car crash on Sunday evening in Fresno.

At around 8:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision on Highway 180 near south Sonoma Avenue.

A Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Highway 180 ahead of a Toyota Camry traveling in the same direction. Authorities say a Chevy traveling westbound sideswiped the Mustang and before crashing head-on into the Camry.

The man driving the Chevy was ejected from the vehicle, which caught fire after the collision.

The unidentified man was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The man driving the Mustang and the woman driving the Camry suffered major injuries and were taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
