Man and Woman Killed in Oildale Motorcycle Collision at North Chester Avenue and Bancroft Drive
Oildale, California (October 5, 2022) – A man and a woman died in a motorcycle accident that occurred in Oildale on Tuesday night.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at the intersection of North Chester Avenue and Bancroft Drive.
A 50-year-old man was riding a 2005 Suzuki bike northbound in the fast lane of North Chester Avenue when he collided with a Subaru, driven by Gannon Stane, 23, of Bakersfield, that was traveling westbound on Bancroft Drive.
CHP said the motorcyclist made a right turn onto the No.2 lane of North Chester Avenue while the car was entering the same lane.
The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist and his female passenger onto the roadway, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of deceased persons were not disclosed.
CHP said the motorcyclist was speeding at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
