12 People Injured in Scottsdale Accident on Loop 101
Scottsdale, Arizona (August 29, 2023) – Twelve people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Scottsdale on Tuesday afternoon.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crash happened at around 4:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Loop 101 near Chaparral Road.
The incident began with a pursuit when troopers attempted to stop a vehicle that was being driven recklessly.
The driver refused to stop and troopers started chasing them.
After about two miles of pursuit, police tried a pit maneuver on the suspected car, causing the car to spin around and come to a stop.
The driver continued to drive southbound on northbound lanes.
DPS said the suspected vehicle then collided with six other vehicles.
Ten people sustained minor to major injuries.
Two people in the suspected car were also injured.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
