Sunnyvale, California (December 2, 2022) – A man died following a car crash that happened in Sunnyvale on Wednesday evening.
The accident happened at around 6:50 p.m. on westbound Highway 237 near Mathilda Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 62-year-old woman driving a 2007 Lexus ES 350 when she came upon traffic that had come to a stop. The woman hit her brakes but could not avoid crashing into a car in front of her.
A 61-year-old male passenger in the rear seat of the Lexus was seriously injured and was transported to Stanford Medical Center, where he died the following day.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office did not disclose the man’s identity.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
