Sacramento, California (November 21, 2022) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that happened in Sacramento on Sunday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Dry Creek Road and Marysville Boulevard.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.

A woman was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital where she died while receiving treatment.

Two other people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

25-year-old Joel Jimenez-Cervante was found to have been driving while under the influence and will be booked into the Sacramento County Jail for charges that include vehicular manslaughter and DUI once released from the hospital.

Additional information about the accident was not provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
