1 Dies After Clackamas County Accident on South Redland Road near Anderson Road

Clackamas County, Oregon (August 26, 2023) – According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, one person suffered fatal injuries while another was severely hurt following a two-vehicle accident on Thursday night in Clackamas County.

The accident happened at around 8:11 p.m. on August 24 on South Redland Road near South Anderson Road.

Police said a Ford F-150 slammed into a Toyota Corolla for unknown reasons.

The Corolla driver died following the collision. Their passenger suffered severe injuries.

The Ford driver, Nicholas Ray Banning, 39, of Oregon City, was arrested by police on suspicion of DUI. He failed a sobriety test and was booked into Clackamas County Jail on manslaughter in the second degree, DUI, and assault in the third-degree charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
