Man Killed in Fountain Valley Crash at Euclid Street and Slater Avenue

Fountain Valley, California (February 28, 2023) – A man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Fountain Valley.
The fatal crash was reported at around 4:52 p.m. at Euclid Street and Slater Avenue.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, a white 2022 Toyota Camry was heading northbound on Euclid Street when it collided with a white 2008 Dodge Caravan.
The Caravan was making a left turn from the southbound lanes of Euclid Street onto Slater when the crash occurred.
The Camry driver, a 51-year-old Costa Mesa man, was trapped inside the car which burst into flames. The man was extricated and was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe head injuries.
The Caravan driver, a 55-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased man was not disclosed.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
