1 Killed, Another Injured in Forest Ranch Collision on Highway at Nopel Road

Forest Ranch, California (July 27, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision on Thursday afternoon in Forest Ranch.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 32 at Nopel Road just east of Chico.
Margaret L. Tinnel, 74, of Forest Ranch, was driving a car eastbound and was negating a curve on the highway when she drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a car driven by an 87-year-old Chico man.
The man was killed in the accident.
Tinnel sustained major injuries and was transported to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
