1 Seriously Injured in Collision on 5 Freeway near Fawndale Road in Redding

Redding, California (March 28, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a collision involving a Caltrans truck early Tuesday morning in Redding.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 12:17 a.m. on the Interstate 5 Freeway near the Fawndale Road off-ramp.

A white Tesla and a Caltrans truck were involved in the collision. The Tesla sustained major front-end damage, while the truck had major rear-end damage.

One person was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
