Three Injured, Pedestrian Under Pickup Truck after Crash at 16th Street and F Street in East Village

San Diego, California (December 24, 2022) – Two pedestrians were injured after being struck by a car in the East Village in San Diego on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 1 p.m., at 16th and F streets.
A 36-year-old man was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck westbound on F Street when he crashed into the back of an Audi A3.
The 50-year-old driver of the Audi pulled over and his car was rear-ended again, pushing it onto 16th Street.
The Ford driver continued onto 16th Street, where it struck a 41-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man on the sidewalk. One person wound up pinned under the pickup truck and had to be extricated.
The female pedestrian was seriously injured and was hospitalized in life-threatening conditions.
The Ford driver and the second pedestrian were injured in the accident and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
It was unclear if the Audi driver suffered any injury.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
