Bakersfield, California (November 28, 2022) – A woman was killed in a traffic collision on Sunday morning in Bakersfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at around 2:15 a.m. on Highway 58, west of Oswell Street.
Gilberto Gallegos Jr. was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Highway 58 when he allowed the vehicle to veer to the right and crash into the rear of a disabled 1995 Ford Thunderbird, stopped on the right shoulder.
A 50-year-old Bakersfield woman in the disabled car was killed in the accident.
Gallegos suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Kern Medical by Hall Ambulance.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
